Discussions with Bellway and other stakeholders

As of October 2011, discussion are underway with Bellway about the upkeep of the park.  These have been greatly aided by our local MP,  Stuart Andrew, and councillor Graham Latty.  Interest has also been shown in regenerating the park by Wharfedale and Airedale Review Development (WARD),  Aireborough Civic Society (ACS), and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE).

The police have been alerted about the anti-social behaviour and drug taking, and, following a report will now be patrolling the park more often.  Efforts are now underway to erradicate the dog fouling which is such a detriment to normal use.

Many local people have started to give us their time to review the site,  and their advice on the ecology and landscape.   Others are helping with the history, and we’d particularly like to thank ex members of staff of Crompton Parkinsons for their invaluable knowledge.

Thank you for all the hard work you are doing to keep this green space in Guiseley. Although I now live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, I have walked across this park many times. It can become a great legacy. Keep up the good work!
