It’s amazing how much you can do with a few willing volunteers and a short space of time. A merry band of people including Chris Parapia, Barbara Winfield, Josie Brooks, Martyn Hornsby-Smith, Horace Price and Nicola Denson, met Thursday (30th June) to plant some wildflowers kindly donated by Carol Rowe around the Hillside Road entrance.
With time in short supply we quickly got on clearing the area of weeds and grass, digging it over, cleaning the steps and planting the new wildflowers. We marked the edge with stones so people could be sure something had been happening there.
We hope you think it looks much better. Unfortunately we forgot to take any before pictures but here’s a one of the activity taking place and the end results.
