The weather seemed to match our theme, but overall a great day was had by all with mini-Olympics, Community Games including Tug of War, Egg and Spoon, Sack race run very professionally by young people from Guiseley Baptist Church. Fairground games provided by Westgate School were enjoyed by all young and old. The pillory proved a hit with youngsters delighting in getting Mum, Dad or grandparents thoroughly soaked.
Many Friends and residents turned out to help with setting up for the day and a wide range of local organisations chipped in to support us including Guiseley Methodist Church Scout Leaders, Litter Free
Guiseley,15th Airedale Scout Group, Aireborough Historical Society, Aireborough Camera Club, Holly from The Conservation
Trust, Nessie with her face painting, Guiseley Brass Band, Professor Fiddlesticks, SJK, Brian and Roger and Richard from the Station Pub. Local councillors Pat and Graham Latty and Paul Wadsworth joined in the fun and the Fancy Dress was judged by Stuart Andrew our local MP.
Fantastic buns were provided by Sian once again and this year we were able to provide teas and coffees.
Thank you to everyone who helped out in any way and also to our Raffle Prize donaters, Guiseley Football Club, Nuffield Health, DW Fitness, Bramble Bakehouse, Everybody’s, Subway and Wacky Warehouse.
Just after 4pm the weather broke and everyone scattered in all directions.
