Unfortunately the rain has come to pass, and high winds are also forecast. So the event today, 13th December, is cancelled. However, the Elf Trail can be done at your leisure over Christmas, see below for details.
Looking at the weather forecast for Sunday it is not going to be the best of days, and the Park is very muddy, which can get slippery. So, plans for tomorrow, the 13th December, may have to change a little.
The Christmas Elf Trail is now up, thanks to the efforts of numerous groups of residents who have each decorated a part of the Park to include an elf door. It will stay up throughout the Christmas period. However, we don’t know if tomorrow’s event to launch the Trail will take place – that depends on the weather.
The event is/was to have music and to give out and collect in Trail maps, but if it is drizzly and foggy we’ll cancel. There will be a notice on Facebook or this post after 12 noon to confirm. Instead, you can do the Trail any time at your own pace; you’ll find a downloadable map here, then, all you have to do is find all the elf doors which each have a letter; then unscramble the letters to make a Christmassy word.
When completed put them in a pink box by the Field Gate or through the letter box of Kelcliffe Cattery, or 2 The Sycamores, to enter the prize draw and don’t forget to include your name and a contact telephone number. All entries must be received by 4pm on Saturday 2nd January 2021.
We’d like to thank everyone who has helped decorate the Park for Christmas. There is a lot of thought effort, not to say talent, has gone into the different ‘elf areas’, and everyone should be proud to have made the Park such a lovely place to go and visit over the holiday period. We hope it brings joy and happiness.
We’d also like to thank the Waitrose Community Scheme (green tokens) for the funds for this event, and all who donated to us last January.
