Easter Trail Map to download is here, or there should be some under the Easter tree in a box. Please donate a minimum of £1 in the box on the Farm Gate or £2 to our Localgiving account here for the trail (minimum Localgiving donation is £2).
Spring has arrived and Easter will soon be here: to celebrate we have several events we hope you will enjoy. We’ll firstly be asking everyone to help decorate the Easter Tree, then there will be an Easter Trail for the children, followed by a Dawn Chorus Walk later in the month.
The Silver Birch at the top of the Park has become our seasonal ‘celebration tree’. Over Easter, add your own colourful Easter Egg decorations and ribbons. There’s a crochet Easter egg pattern here but painted, knitted, or other crafts are very welcome. We will have some wooden eggs to decorate in the Easter goody bags linked to the Easter Trail (see below).
Children’s Easter Trail 1st – 18th April
From the 1st – 18th April, Easter Bunnies will be hiding from their Mother in the Park. An Easter Bunny Trail map will help locate the naughty bunnies and once they’ve all been found you will be entered into a prize draw for some Easter eggs – what else !! The trail maps are £1 and will be available from the following places along with Easter goody bags for £4 which will include an egg to decorate and hang on the Easter Tree.
- The Kissing Gate, top of Edison Way
- Kelcliffe Cattery, Netherfield Drive
- Farnhill, Kelcliffe Lane (near the Farm Gate)
The Friends will also be selling maps and goody bags in the Park on Wednesday 31st March, Good Friday and Easter Saturday, 10am – 12 noon.
Dawn Chorus Walk 30th April
As the days grow longer the birds are busy building nests and raising families. We are pleased to be able to offer a Dawn Chorus walk with local birdwatching expert Darren Shepherd at a time that is strictly for early birds, 5.40am !! The event will be around 2 hours long.
We are expecting that as from 29th March groups of six can meet outdoors, so we would ask that you email us to book a place, email@example.com. That way, we can run the session according to relevant ‘regulations’ and if they change we can let people know.
We are hoping to run a further Dawn Chorus walk later in May (after 17th) when outdoor groups should be able to go up to 30. So, if the April event is over subscribed, we’ll have a waiting list ready for the May event .
